Becoming a Top Viewer for a Top Broadcaster! ft. CEO of Cougartown & Her Community

Behind every A5 broadcaster is a Family that works day and night to lift them and their community to the stars. But how does this kind of Family operate, and how can viewers have this sort of impact?

To learn more about this, we interviewed A5 broadcaster CEO of Cougartown and one of her most dedicated Family members, Bratlord!

CEO and her powerful community have won numerous events and titles. Now, she’s known as one of the top broadcasters on the app! Let’s take a look at how that came to be.

Pococha:

Welcome, CEO of Cougar Town and Bratlord! It is great to have you here today!
So, CEO: you’re pretty famous on the app for having one of the most hard-working and dedicated Families around. Can you tell me about your Family?

CEO of Cougar Town:

Yes! I have to say, my Family members are awesome. We became really close with each other while spending so much time together on this app. They’ve genuinely become my real family. I care about them so much that I literally know everything about my Family members, and what’s going on in their daily lives. They are always in my broadcast to pick me up when I’m having bad days, and I’m always here to lift them up in return if they need it. Our bond is so tight.

We’ve also gone through so many competitions and events together. They support me so much that I really feel I need to be successful for them, to repay them for all they do for me! They always tell me “I believe in you!” and “If anyone can do it, you can!”, so losing just isn’t an option. I refuse to let them down. I think that mindset is what’s helped us all find success as a collective.

It’s not just about the Items, though — many people don’t realize that from the outside looking in. I want my Family to know that our friendship is always first when it comes to this app. I want and need them to be a part of my life, and to experience this wild journey with me. It wouldn’t be happening without them. So I always appreciate the folks who show up to my broadcasts every day, even if they can’t support me with Coins!

Pococha:

Was there any specific turning point where you remember thinking, “Wow, I couldn’t have done this without them”?

CEO of Cougar Town:

I always wanted to try going for a Hall of Fame event. When I found out about the Hall of Fame in LA, I knew that was my shot to make it; it’s my hometown, so it was most meaningful for me. Thanks to my Family members that showed up in a MASSIVE way, I won the Hall of Fame event and got to be on a billboard! As if that win wasn’t enough, someone from an agency approached me after seeing this win and offered me a contract with them. I was SO shocked!

So, at my age, here I am signing with an agency, and getting a chance to be in commercials again. That’s wild. Now I have this new door reopened for me by coming to Pococha. The previous streaming apps I’ve tried never had this sort of impact. And this is all thanks to this amazing community we’ve built together here! That was the biggest moment for me, but there have been so many others since.

Thank you so much, CEO of Cougar Town! Wow, that is such an amazing story. It’s incredible that your dreams are coming true all over again — and most importantly, that your Family members are the ones who lifted you up to get there!

Let’s dive deeper into the story of your tight-knit Family to see how this came to be.

Pococha:

Thanks for joining the interview, Bratlord! So, you’re one of CEO of Cougartown’s biggest supporters. We noticed that you and your fellow Family members work together to support CEO as a community. Can you tell me what you do to support her?

Bratlord:

Sure. So, we all support Mia (aka CEO of Cougar Town) but in various ways. Of course we need to support her with Items, but we don’t stop there.

For example, I will never be a social director, but I will always be a technical advisor in her Family to help any new viewers who struggle to understand the app. This is because I’m good at learning how mechanisms and systems work. I read every blog and any information the Pococha staff provides. I’m pretty sure I could literally host the Round Table for you guys! (laughs)

I also observe the Rank Meter and read all the available literature on how it functions. I’ve gotten to estimate pretty accurately how the Meter will slide for the day, and always help Mia strategize as to how much we need to achieve her daily goal.

Also, we’ve developed a channel called Ask the Brat, where new people can ask any questions they have about the app, and I’ll step in to answer. This is the role I can best play, so it makes me happy to have this outlet that also helps Mia to find more success.

To be honest, though, I get overwhelmed in social situations sometimes, and I’m not so good at contributing in the comments. But there are other viewers who are much better in that department. Each of the Family members contributes to the broadcast according to their strengths.

Wow, that is amazing! You have such a robust system in place. Can you tell me some more about the other Family members and their roles?

Bratlord:

Sure — like I said, each of the family members contributes to Mia as they can. But it’s not all through Items. We all try to capitalize on our own skills to improve the whole. For example, Angie is the greeter; she welcomes in new viewers a lot. Mrs. Robinson gets the whole hype thing, so she makes sure everyone’s having fun communicating and helps the stream energy stay up. Dave is the biggest feeler; he holds the heart of the broadcast, and helps to support other viewers who are going through a tough time. It’s like a real community.

This is only a small part of the Family, though; we all do much more, and step in to help wherever needed. The important thing is to contribute what you can.

Pococha:

Thank you so much Bratlord! Lastly: what makes you and the other Family members want to do all these things?

Bratlord

It’s simple, honestly. We want to see Mia succeed, and see her professional success. I’m invested in making that happen. If there is anybody that I feel is deserving in life, it’s Mia. That is a general consensus within our Family; we all want her to take off, because we see how hard she works and know the potential in her. Everything we get from Mia is 100% authentic and honest. She cares about us, learns about us, talks to us, and supports us in return. That’s why we all come back, and why the bond has grown there. It’s a real Family.

CEO of Cougar Town:

I can’t just let him have the last word here either! (laughs) Bratlord is right; the Family is just so special. We’ve shared laughter and tears, ups and downs, and they’ve been by my side every step of the way. You don’t realize until you’re in it just what a massive impact it can have on your life. It’s the most beautiful gift anyone could ever have, this friendship I have found on Pococha. They’ve been there for every day with me, and now I can’t imagine a day without them being part of my life. They’re never getting rid of me — like Brat said, we’re real Family now!

Inviters, here’s how it works:

  1. Find your unique invite code on Pococha
  2. Send it to your friends & family

How Can I Increase My Chances?

In order to receive ticket entries, the new user must input your code within 7 days of downloading the app. A maximum of 20 invite codes can be redeemed by new users.

How To Find Your Invite Code:

  1. Open your Pococha app.
  2. Tap your profile icon at the top left of the app.
  3. Click the Preferences icon in the top right of your account page.
  4. Click “Invite Code”.
  5. Copy the code and send it to your friends!

How To Input Code & Receive Coins:

  1. Have your friend download Pococha & create an account.
  2. On their account page, they can click Preferences icon and then click “Input Invite Code”.
  3. Once they input the code successfully, a notification will be sent to both the invitee and inviter.
  4. If the invited user completes the additional tasks for more entries, a notification will also be sent to both.
  5. Winners of the monthly giveaway will receive a notification that they have won.

Please Note:

  • The “Refer A Friend” Campaign is designed to bring in quality users, not just anyone!
  • Current Pococha users can have up to 40 new users input their invite code. Choose wisely!
  • The number of invites used will be carried over from the previous version of the program. If an inviter has already had some new users use their code, they will not be able to use that many for the new program.
  • Current Pococha users must be level 20 or higher to be eligible for the program and send codes.
  • Invited users can only enter a code once to be eligible for the monthly giveaway. Once they enter an input code, they will not be able to input another.

Official Rules (“Rules”)

Sponsored by DeNA Co., Ltd. (“Sponsor”)

NO ENTRY FEE. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. All times and dates are Pacific Standard Time (“PST”).

  1. Entry Period for the Draw:

    The Pococha Refer a Friend Campaign (“Campaign”) is a monthly sweepstakes (each, a monthly “Draw”) with first Draw beginning in April 2023 and continuing each month until a later date to be determined by Sponsor (“Campaign Period”). Throughout the Campaign Period, each Draw will start, and be open to entries, on the 1st day of each monthly Category Ranking Periods, and will end, and be closed to entries, on the final day of each monthly Category Ranking Periods (“Draw Period”). Notwithstanding the Campaign Period, Sponsor may choose to terminate the sweepstakes at any time in its sole discretion without notice.

  2. Eligibility:

    The Draw is open to individuals who (i) have Internet access; (ii) are individual legal residents of the United States at the time of entry; (iii) are at least 18 years old and the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, (iv) have a Pococha account in good standing, and (v) meet the additional requirements defined on the official Campaign website located at https://pococha.blog/2022/07/06/refer-a-friend-campaign/ (“Campaign Website”), which is incorporated into these Rules by reference. Employees of the Sponsor (including Sponsor’s parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, fulfillment, or other coordinating agencies), individuals providing services to the Sponsor through an outsourcer or temporary employment agency during the Campaign Period, and their respective immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Campaign. Entry into the Campaign and any Draw therein constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Rules. THE CAMPAIGN IS VOID WHERE RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED BY LAW.

  3. How to Enter:

    The Campaign Website specifies how to enter each Draw during the Campaign Period. Only entrants who follow the entry requirements will be eligible.

  • Winner Determination:

    The winner(s) of each Draw will be randomly selected from the total pool of all entries received within each Draw Period during the Campaign Period. Winners from each Draw will be selected on or about 2 weeks after the close of that Draw Period and the winners will be awarded prizes as specified below.
  • Prizes Details:

    The winning invitee and inviter (as defined in the Campaign Website) of each monthly Draw will each receive 5,000 in-app Coins.

    Total Approximate Retail Value of all prizes awarded: $3,333.

    Prizes are expected to be delivered in-app after two weeks of following a Draw Period. No action is required on the winning user’s end to receive their Prize. Prize delivery date and time is subject to change without prior notice. Prizes may only be sent to Pococha accounts in good standing (i.e., not banned). No substitutions are possible. Sponsor reserves the right to exclude/disqualify any entries which is deems suspicious at its sole discretion.

    Please note again that no payment, fee, or purchase of any items, in-app currency, or anything else is required to complete each Draw. No cash or other substitution of prizes is permitted, except at the sole option of the Sponsor for a prize of equal or greater value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of any advertised prize. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prize. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and payment of any and all federal, state, provincial and local taxes, levies, customs duties or like charges, if any, that apply to the prize or its delivery.
  • Winner Qualification & Notification:

    Selected prize winner(s) of a Draw will be notified by in-app message (each a “Notice”) shortly after the conclusion of the respective Draw Period.

    Each selected winner agrees that the Sponsor may forefeit or nullify the winner’s selection if, in the reasonable opinion of the Sponsor, the winner: (a) has violated these Rules; (b) deletes their Pococha account before the prize is delivered; or (c) for any other reason in the Sponsor’s reasonable discretion.
  • General Rules:

    By entering any Draw during the Campaign Period, each entrant agrees that they have read and understand that they are being bound by these Rules. Each entrant agrees that Sponsor, and their licensors, parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, fulfillment, or other coordinating agencies (“Sponsor Members”) shall not be responsible for any of the following: (i) stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, undeliverable, or incomplete, inaccurate, delayed participation or participation related data due to technical, computer, mechanical, printing, typographical, human, or other errors relating to or in connection with the Draw, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Draw, notification or correspondence (whether by email or postal mail or otherwise), the processing of entry/participation data, the announcement of winners or prizes, or in any Draw related materials or data; (ii) any technical failure of any kind, including but not limited to phone, electrical, network, computer, hardware, software, or transmission malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (iii) failures of any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Draw; (iv) unauthorized human and/or mechanical intervention in any part of the participation process or the Draw; (v) technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Draw, or the sending or processing of entry/participation related data; or (vi) any injury or damage to persons or property that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entry/participation in the Draw or the receipt or use of any prize. If for any reason an entrant’s entry or entry related data are confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed, corrupted, or for any other reason not accepted as entry or entry related data in respect of the Draw, the entrant’s sole remedy is, insofar as participation in the Draw remains available, to place a new entry in the Draw or any remaining Draws in the Campaign. Sponsor may rescind any entry or entry related data found to contain errors or failures, without liability at its sole discretion.

    By entering a Draw, entrants further agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold Sponsor Members, and their directors, officers, employees, agents, and assigns, and any other organizations related to the Campaign (collectively, the “Releasees”), harmless from any and all claims, injuries, damages, expenses, or losses to person or property and/or liabilities of any nature that in any way arise from entry/participation in the Campaign, and any Draw held therein, or acceptance or use of any prize or parts thereof, including, without limitation, (i) any condition caused by events beyond Sponsor Members’ control that may cause the Campaign, or any Draw therein to be disrupted or corrupted; (ii) damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer or wireless device, or inability to access any website or other Internet presence or wireless service; and (iii) any printing or typographical errors in any materials or data associated with the Campaign, or any Draw therein.

AS A CONDITION OF ENTERING/PARTICIPATING IN THE CAMPAIGN, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW ENTRANTS AGREE THAT (I) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL RELEASEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, DATA, BUSINESS OR PROFITS), OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH ENTRY OR PARTICIPATION IN THE CAMPAIGN, WHETHER SUCH LIABILITY ARISES FROM ANY CLAIM BASED UPON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, AND WHETHER OR NOT ANY OF THE RELEASEES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGE; (II) ALL CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THE CAMPAIGN, OR ANY PRIZES AWARDED, SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION; AND (III) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS, AND AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, BUT SHALL IN NO EVENT INCLUDE ATTORNEYS’ FEES OR ASSOCIATED COSTS.

ENTRANTS AGREE THAT RELEASEES HAVE NOT MADE NOR ARE IN ANY MANNER RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR GUARANTEE, STATUTORY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, TITLE, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE), IN FACT OR IN LAW, RELATIVE TO THE CAMPAIGN OR PRIZES AWARDED. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, RELEASEES DO NOT MAKE ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS WITH RESPECT TO ANY PROMOTIONAL WEBSITE AND RELEASEES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANY INTERRUPTIONS OR ERRORS RELATED THERETO. If in Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Campaign, or if computer virus, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical difficulties or failures compromise or corrupt or affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness, or proper conduct of a Draw, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the participation process or participation related data, void any entry made fraudulently, modify or suspend the Campaign or any Draw therein, or terminate the the Campaign or any Draw therein, and, if possible and in each’s sole discretion only, select any winner from all eligible, non-suspect entrants’ participation data received as of the date of the event giving rise to such measures. Any attempts by an individual to access any website associated with the Campaign via robotic, automatic entry devices, programs such as, but not limited to, by script, macro or any other automated means, or any other unauthorized participation will void all such entries by such methods.

ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE ANY RELEASEE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE DRAW MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK CIVIL AND/OR CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.

  • Additional Conditions:
  1. Use of Likeness & Publicity

    By entering a Draw and/or winning any prize, each entrant grants to Sponsor Members, and any of their respective advertising agents the right to use and/or publish their Pococha profile, or other Likeness (in whole and in part), and/or statements made by entrant regarding the Draw, Pococha, or Sponsor Members, worldwide and in perpetuity for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, for the purposes of creating the prizes and advertising, trade and/or promotion on behalf of Sponsor Members, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, print, radio, or other electronic transmission whether via cable or the Internet, or otherwise, without further limitation, restriction, compensation, notice, review, or approval. As referenced in these Rules, the term “Likeness” means all legally protectable aspects of the personality of the entrant, which, for the purposes of these Rules, shall include the names, nicknames, initials, signatures (including facsimiles), voices, portrait, likeness, persona, and biographical information of entrant, and rights of publicity and privacy of the entrant.

    B.  Rule Changes

    Sponsor reserves the right to change these Rules at any time. If Sponsor makes what it considers to be material changes to these Rules, such changes will be posted to the Campaign Website. An entrant’s continued participation in the Campaign following such notice of a change signifies acceptance of, and consent to, those modifications. If any entrant breaches any of these Rules, such entrant’s authorization to enter and participate in the Campaign automatically terminates.

    C.  Campaign Changes

    Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Campaign in whole or in part, in the event of fraud, technical or other difficulties, or if the integrity of the Campaign or any draw therein is compromised, without liability to any entrant. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. The Campaign is subject to these Rules and all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.

D.  Governing law and Venue

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules or the rights and obligations of entrants or Sponsor in connection with this Campaign are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Entrants hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the Federal and State Courts in Los Angeles, California for the purposes of any suit related to the Campaign and waive any claim that they are not subject personally to the jurisdiction of said courts or that any such suit or other proceeding is brought in an inconvenient forum or improper venue.

E.  Privacy

Updated Feature – New Core Fan Level

We’ve heard from many users who want to be able to reach higher Core Fan and Fan Noise levels after 48K.

So, next month we are introducing a new 50K Core Fan level that will include the new Fan Noise levels of 50K, 52K, 54K, 56K, & 58K!

Additionally, the requirements for many Fan Noise levels below 50K will also be reduced!

The color of the new Core Fan level will be GOLD!

Your strongest supporters will now be able to reach this level and attain this golden recognition.

The new Core Fan level is set to be released on April 1!

Broadcasters, have you ever struggled to grow your community? Have viewers who don’t engage? Want to increase the size of your support? – We’re here to help!

Today, we’ll be focusing on the importance of capturing new viewers and the best methods to keep them coming back.

New Viewers – Take ‘Em or Leave ‘Em?

Take ‘em of course!

The single most important factor in a broadcaster’s growth is their ability to convert new viewers into diehard supporters. Broadcasters who don’t cater to new viewers often grow stagnant or fall in Rank.

If you only think about your immediate goals (ex: “hitting +1 today”) then your community may not expand as you like. Focusing solely on your current supporters might create too much pressure or expectation on them to be responsible for your continued growth and success.

This is why it is important to reserve some energy to focus on new viewers who, when turned into fans, will help you grow without forcing your current supporters to work even harder.

Without a strategy for engaging with new viewers, they are likely to quickly swipe past your broadcast and never return.

This is why you must have a different strategy for speaking to new viewers as opposed to current supporters! So, plan on creating an exciting way to communicate what you want to achieve and how the new viewer can help.

Think “Why should this new viewer care about me, and what can I offer them in return for their support in helping me succeed?”

A great metaphor is to imagine your supporters as a pyramid! You cannot make the pyramid higher unless you make it wider at its base first. Turning new viewers into supporters is the only way to expand that base!

The Ideal New Viewer Journey

Some broadcasters are naturals at capturing the attention of new viewers. But others need a little help!

So, we have created the Ideal New Viewer Journey as a tool to succeed. Learning, understanding, and using this journey is a sure way to increase your chances of acquiring fresh new supporters.

We’ll quickly provide an overview of the journey, then breakdown each part with some helpful tips & examples. Let’s begin!

1. Moment of Arrival

The average new viewer spends only about 2-3 seconds in a broadcast before they decide to stay or leave. As a broadcaster, you must quickly grab their attention.

Tip #1: New viewers need to feel warmly welcomed and included immediately

  • Call out the new viewer by their username as soon as you notice them!
  • Don’t force the viewer to comment or use Items, but gently invite them to engage in a way that suits your broadcasts and your personality.
    • “Feel free to comment if you’d like!”
    • “If you stick around for a bit, you’ll earn free Coins in a PocoBox! You could even try using an Item on me with those Coins, if you feel like it… 😉”

Tip #2 – Give priority to the new viewers and talk to them first

  • Stop the conversation going on in the broadcast for a moment to welcome the new viewer(s).
  • Keep in mind that new viewers have extremely short attention spans. It’s also VERY easy to scroll through broadcasters with just the flick of a finger! If you don’t address them quickly, they could leave before you greet them!
  • Note: They need time to get used to this app and observe communication, so don’t force them to leave comments right away! Let them stay and engage at their own pace.

Tip #3 – Give the viewer some time to “chill”

  • An overwhelming welcome can scare away viewers actually, so don’t do too much.
  • Let them watch or a bit to see how the broadcast works.
  • Then reach out after a while to ask them a question and check in with them. Appropriate time (3-5 mins)
  • This doesn’t mean DON’T talk to new viewers however, it just means to give them space after an initial hello. Greet them then in a bit raise a topic or question that they can comment and join!

2. Turn Lurkers Into Engagers

Viewers are often very very shy and not likely to actively engage in communication. So as a broadcaster you need to have patience with them.

Tip #1 – Reintroduce them into conversation if they’ve been quiet for a bit

  • “Hey ___! How are you? Are you getting used to the app? Any questions?”
  • “What do you think about [current conversation topic], __?”
  • “Hey ___, how’s your week been? Anything fun happen? Any plans for the weekend?”

Tip #2 – Introduce yourself!

  • Talk about your hobbies, special skills, content of your broadcast, fun facts about yourself, etc.

Tip #3 – Ask them about themselves — make communication personal!

  • Note: Viewers tend to stick to a broadcaster with whom they have a personal communication and who they feel “recognizes” them.
  • No need to aggressively ask questions if they aren’t willing to share! Sometimes just the show of interest is enough; connections will naturally deepen with time.

Tip #4 – Offer to answer questions about Pococha!

  • Use this as an opportunity to educate new viewers a bit! Tell them that Pococha is a communication app, where we talk together with everybody. Reassure them that it’s not scary, and that you’re excited to get to know them
  • Teach the viewer about Pococha, explain what Items are and how they help your goal, explain PocoBoxes and how the viewer can earn free Coins to support you.

Tip #5 – Ask your top supporters to help communicate with the new viewer, after they have had time to chill.

  • The supporters can say hi to the new viewer in the chat, ask them questions, and introduce themselves.

Tip #6 – Most Important: Focus on what the viewer wants to discuss, and listen.

  • Don’t only talk about what you want.
  • If the viewer doesn’t want to talk, that’s ok! Let them lurk for a bit longer than try again later. Never give up!

3. The First Goodbye

When your new potential supporter exits the broadcast for the first time, it’s important to give them a proper sendoff!

Tip #1 – Make sure to ask them to follow you! VERY IMPORTANT

  • Viewers are a lot more likely to return if they receive a notification for when you go live.
    • NOTE: Some phones automatically disallow apps from sending notifications! Regularly remind your viewers (new and regular) to check their phone settings and make sure they allow notifications from Pococha.
  • Don’t forget to invite them to your next broadcast and say you’ll be looking for them to say hi and continue conversation!
  • Show the viewer where the Follow button is! Point to it in the broadcast and thank them once they do it. It should show in the chat!

    • If the viewer follows, they are 25% more likely to return

Tip #2 – Remind viewers to say goodbye before they leave!

  • One issue that some broadcasters have is they have “lurker” viewers who leaves without announcing it. Make sure to tell new viewers in advance to say “bye” before leaving so that you can say goodbye too.
  • Psychologically, it will make the new viewer feel as if they already have a connection with the broadcaster, and it will ask them to agree to a sort of “social contract” when they are already agreeing to “help” the broadcaster in a way.
  • This also holds the new viewer accountable — they may feel guilty if they don’t say goodbye, which increases their chance of engaging.

Tip #3 – Share your next broadcast schedule with the viewer

  • “I will broadcast tomorrow at 8pm I hope you will join!”
  • Also encourage the viewer to check out your profile for your schedule and more information.

4. The Reunion

If your potential supporter returns a second time, it means they’re very likely to turn into a regular supporter. Be sure to treat this moment very carefully.

Tip #1 – Do whatever you can to reference their first visit!

  • Call them by name and recall any conversations you had, personal info they mentioned, or fun moments they witnessed. Viewers are much more likely to connect with & commit to a broadcaster when they think, “They remembered me!”
    • Say, “I remember you from the last time you were here!”
    • Say, “That’s right; we talked about ___ last time!”

Tip #2 – Tell them you want to know more about them!

  • Ask your viewers questions, and take notes on what they say! Build a genuine connection with them, and offer info about yourself in return.
  • Take notes on the person’s hobbies, background, birthdays, and conversations you’ve had before.
    • Don’t be afraid to let people see you taking notes, or to tell them you’re taking notes! You might think it’s rude, but it actually conveys a sense of dedication that will make your viewers certain that you’re paying close attention to them.
  • We also suggest writing down your viewers’ birthdays on a calendar and having a “birthday party” every month!

Tip #3 – Be more straightforward than usual when communicating through a screen!

  • Some broadcasters may feel uncomfortable being so straightforward when telling viewers that they’re “glad they’re back” or give blunt compliments/observations. This is necessary in a digital environment to make sure that your feelings are coming across despite the distance. It may feel awkward at first, but it is actually comforting and reassuring for the viewer to be certain of how you (the broadcaster) feels.

New Viewer Becomes New Supporter

If the Ideal New Viewer Journey is followed and executed, your new viewers are going to be a lot more likely to turn into supporters.

Try these tips out during your next broadcasts. Also encourage your other supporters to learn about the journey and treat new viewers in the same way.

Remember!

Items take time to be registered & calculated by the Pococha app – especially larger Items!

If Items are tapped too quickly, some may be cancelled any Items that are not counted by our server will be automatically refunded to the user.

Since all users experience the same mechanics during Events, there is no disadvantage to any one user.

Pro Tip: Be sure to prepare plenty of time to send Items, especially at the end of Event. Strategize with your Family to determine the best way to win!
