Why Should I Broadcast at End Time?

How timing & frequency of broadcasting can lead to success.

Hello!

Thank you for using Pococha.

Recently, we have heard many questions regarding End Time.

We often hear questions like:

  • Why can’t I broadcast whenever I want?
  • Why do we have to compete each day?
  • What if I need breaks?

We’d like to answer these questions and more!

End Time period is the 24-hour time period during which broadcasters can earn Support Points. Once End Time has finished, broadcasters will earn or lose Rank Points depending on their performance on the Rank Meter. Once enough Rank Points are earned, a broadcaster can increase their Rank!

Here is when the End Time period ends:

  • 9:00pm Pacific Time – During Daylight Savings Time (Mar-Nov)
  • 8:00pm Pacific Time – During Standard Time (Nov-Mar)

For this article, we have prepared both a short video and an infographic to help explain!

We’ve also created a feedback survey HERE. Please submit any questions you have that you would like the Pococha team to answer!

Broadcasting at End Time is important!

Broadcasters on Pococha can broadcast whenever they like, there are no restriction about this.

Each broadcasting community is unique, and that means different strategies for broadcasting.

While it is not required for broadcasters to broadcast around End Time, we highly encourage it! This is because the competition is decided at End Time.

If you’re a broadcaster looking to increase your Rank, it is important to broadcast at End Time. This allows the broadcaster to track the movement of the Rank meter, which can change rapidly just before End Time.

To learn more about how the Rank System and Rank Meter work, read our recent bog “Why Do Rank Meters Move?”

Additionally, broadcasting at End Time provides a way for viewers and broadcasters to celebrate a victory together – or discuss strategy after a loss.

Let’s pretend you have bought a ticket to your watch your favorite athlete play in a game. If the athlete stops early, the fans will never get to experience the moment of victory of winning!

This is exactly like End Time. Consider it like a finish line of a sporting event. Sharing this moment between broadcaster and supporters is crucial for deepening bonds and growing a fan community. So it’s also important for the supporter to cross the finish line as well!

Pococha is a game of competition, and End Time is the criteria for judging the competitors!

As we explained in our recent blog, Why Do Rank Borders Move, the Rank System and competition are tools a broadcaster can use to increase support from viewers and find success!

In any game of competition, there must be rules and judgment criteria in order for winners to be chosen. Creating a “finish time” to decide the winner creates a fair environment in which there can be a clear winner. This finish line also provides a moment for winners to celebrate with their fans.

Using our sports example again, let’s think about basketball! In basketball, there is usually four 12-min quarters in a game. This means the team has 48 minutes before a winner is decided!

Also, the last few minutes of a sports game is often the most exciting when there is close competition. These last moments are when fans are the most passionate and willing to show support.

The same is true for End Time. Broadcasters and their viewers have 24 hours to try and earn as many Support Points as possible. Then when End Time is over, it is clear who the winners are. The last moments before End Time are the most exciting, and viewers will show more support!

If the rules were more unclear and there was no definite moment that decided who wins a competition, then the broadcasters and the fans would never get moments to celebrate victory.

Why should we compete every day though?

Often we hear from users that they wish the competition on Pococha was less frequent than every day. So, we’d like to explain why End Time happens daily!

It is important for a broadcaster to communicate with their viewers on a frequent basis! If viewers see you less often, they will be less likely to want to support you. Additionally, broadcasting daily offers a chance for broadcasters to prove to viewers they are serious about competition.

For example, consider some friends you had in high school. How many do you keep in contact with still today? Usually the only ones that you still feel close to are the ones that you continue to communicate with frequently. The same is true for broadcasting!

Frequent face to face encounters between broadcasters and viewers will strengthen the relationship, and make it more likely for the community to grow and succeed. This is why we have decided to use one day (24 hours) as the time period for which to judge the competition. It creates more frequent interactions for the community and strengthens their bonds.

If the competition period were longer, like a week or even a month, then broadcasters would likely not broadcast frequently. Many broadcasters would wait until the end of the week and then try to earn all their points at the very last moment.

This creates an undesirable experience for the supporters, who are looking to communicate and interact with the broadcaster as much as possible.

However in addition to the daily communication that is created by End Time, we also have an option for weekly competition. Many Events take place over multiple days. This can be a broadcaster’s chance to compete during a longer period, which also creates a bigger moment of emotion & bonding when the results are revealed.

What if I need breaks?

While it is important to broadcast as much as possible, this doesn’t have to mean every single day. It is important to take breaks, not only for one’s own mental health but also to allow viewers some time off as well.

This is why we offer Freeze Passes.

Freeze Pass is a feature that allows broadcasters to sustain long careers of broadcasting without needing to broadcast all the time.

For a more detailed explanation of Freeze Passes, check out our FAQ site here!

Being a broadcaster means lots of constant and continuous interaction with viewers. So, it’s important for broadcasters and their viewers to take occasional days off. Days off allow the fan community to work harder on days that matter!

We encourage broadcasters to use their Freeze Pass in a strategic way that benefits the whole Family. For example, try using a Freeze Pass on the day before an Event. This will allow viewers to save their support and use more during the competition!

A broadcaster should always discuss their Freeze Pass use, as well as all other strategies, with their viewers! Ask viewers if there is a day when most of them cannot join the broadcast, this is also a great day to use a Freeze Pass!

How To Support Broadcasters & Enjoy Pococha

Hello!

We have heard many requests to create more blogs for viewers on Pococha, so let’s do it!

We often hear questions like:

  • How can viewers enjoy Pococha?
  • What ways can I support a broadcaster?
  • What kind of benefits can a viewer receive?

We’d like to answer these questions and more!

For this article, we have prepared both a short video and an infographic to help explain!

We’ve also created a feedback survey HERE. Please submit any questions you have that you would like the Pococha team to answer!

Viewers are the core of Pococha!

On Pococha, viewers don’t only “view” things. Instead, they are supporters who discover their favorite broadcaster and work together to achieve goals and enjoy experiences beyond everyday life.

Pococha is not only a live streaming app, it is like a communication gaming app where a broadcaster and their supporters come together to compete against other communities. Through these victories (and sometimes losses), the supporters and broadcaster become closer and develop a deeper relationship.

It is important for a viewer to create a relationship with not only the broadcaster, but also with the other viewers! When viewers work together it creates a stronger community. In fact in order to win Events and Rank up, we think it is absolutely crucial for viewers to collaborate & strategize together.

The more a viewer supports and communicates with a broadcaster, the more recognition they will receive for their efforts. A broadcaster will show greater appreciation and spend more time with the viewers who contributed the most to victories.

On Pococha, broadcasters have a daily competition known as the Rank Meter. So it is important for the viewer to watch and support each day! We’ll talk more about the Rank Meter in a bit.

Imagine that your favorite broadcaster is like a player on your favorite sports team. And that the viewers are the sports fan. The fans cheer together for their favorite team. The fan’s cheering helps motivate the broadcaster to win the competition, and together the can share a feeling of victory. The fan also creates connections with other fans, who work together to cheer louder.

Actually unlike a sports game, the supporters on Pococha are in charge of the outcome of the competition! This is why competing on Pococha is truly a unified effort from both the broadcaster and the fans.

Even if a fan’s favorite team loses, they do not give up! They return for the next competition and cheer even louder. And ultimately, even an experience of losing can create a memory that strengthens the bonds of the community.

How can a viewer can support a broadcaster and their community?

There are many ways a viewer can support a broadcaster, but we’ll focus on 4 main ways today – helping the broadcaster become an influencer, Ranking up, Events, and Engagement Diamonds!

On Pococha, a broadcaster earns rewards as a direct result of how much viewer support they are receiving. The more support that viewers contribute, the more rewards the broadcaster will receive in return.

Currently, Pococha is not taking any commission fees from the support sent from viewers. This means that the maximum amount of rewards is being given to broadcasters from viewers’ support.

1) Help the broadcaster become an influencer

First, a broadcaster on Pococha is looking to become a new top influencer! As a part of the fan community, a viewer can contribute to the success and popularity of their favorite broadcaster!

By continuously participating and being interactive in broadcasts, a viewer is already helping the broadcaster begin to achieve this goal!

2) Help the broadcaster Rank Up

The best way viewers can support a broadcaster is by helping them Rank Up!

Reaching a higher Rank will earn more recognition, opportunities, and bigger rewards for the broadcaster.

How can a viewer help the broadcaster Rank Up? By generating Support Points!

Each day, a broadcaster competes against other broadcasters to see who can gain the most Support Points. The broadcasters who best prove they can work with their supporters to generate the most Support Points will receive Rank Points and eventually Rank Up!

So, it’s important for viewers to be ready to go into battle with their favorite broadcaster every day. It’s especially vital for viewers to watch, interact, & support the broadcaster right before End Time – since this is when the results of the daily competition (the Rank Meter) are decided.

To learn more about the daily Rank Meter, read our recent blog “Why Do Rank Borders Move?”

3) Help win Events

Another way viewers can help a broadcaster succeed is by supporting a broadcaster during an Event!

There are many different types of Events, we encourage viewers to work together with the broadcaster to determine which is the best fit and which has a good chance of victory!

If a broadcaster is far behind in a competition, it is still important to work hard to create as much support as possible. That way the team can be ready to work hard next time!

Winning an Event can be a great way for a broadcaster to earn fame & recognition on Pococha, and earn unforgettable experience prizes outside the app.

4) Earn rewards for the broadcaster

A viewer’s support can also turn into Diamond rewards for the broadcaster. As a broadcaster ranks up and wins events, their Diamond rewards will also increase!

When a viewer sends an Item to a broadcaster, it turns into Support Points. Each day, a broadcasters amount of Support Points will earn them a reward of Engagement Diamonds. The broadcaster can convert Engagement Diamonds into real cash or Pococha Coins.

Earning Engagement Diamonds for the broadcaster by sending Items is probably the most direct way a viewer can send support, and the broadcaster is sure to show gratitude to those who contribute.

To learn more about how broadcasters earn rewards as a result of viewer support, read our recent blog “Learn The Pococha Rewards System”

What kind of benefits can viewers earn?

Viewers can earn many kinds of benefits as a thank you for their support!

Core Fan & Fan Noise

One of the coolest rewards on Pococha for viewers is the ability to become a Core Fan and collect Fan Noise.

The level of a viewer’s Fan Noise represents their size of support to the broadcaster each month. When a viewer reaches 1000 Fan Noise, they will become a Core Fan of the broadcaster. Each broadcaster has a cool & unique way that they reward their Core Fans. Some give special thank you messages or even gifts. Often, broadcasters have a Family chat this is only for their Core Fans!

Additionally, viewers will gain access to special icons & comment colors as they gain more Fan Noise. For example, a 40K Core Fan will have a special rainbow effect on all their chat comments!

Special Recognition

Finally, one of the most personal rewards for viewers can be the different kinds of recognition they can receive from broadcasters.

Broadcasters provide this recognition and rewards to viewers in many ways!

Here’s some great ways we’ve seen broadcasters do this:

  • Putting the supporter’s name on a special board or on their wall.
  • Putting the supporter’s name in their profile.
  • Creating a special exclusive song or dance just for the viewer.
  • Creating a special video message to send to the viewer.
  • Giving the viewer a shoutout on their social media.
  • And many more creative ways!

PocoKnights

Another cool reward for viewers can be unlocked when they become a PocoKnight of their broadcaster during an Event. A PocoKnight is a type of guardian who has sworn to protect and support the broadcaster all the way through an Event.

Viewers who are PocoKnights gain access to 3 exclusive Items that are available no where else. PocoKnights also earn the most recognition and gratitude from a broadcaster after an Event.

Q&A From “Why Do Rank Borders Move?”

Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback & questions to our recent blog – Why Do Rank Borders Move?

https://pocochablog.wordpress.com/2022/10/04/why-do-rank-borders-move/

We have reviewed all your questions and are responding to the most frequently asked questions about the rank system.

Please take a look! If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact our customer support team.

  1. Q: Is there only a percentage of users who can achieve +0, +1, or +2 on a given day?
  2. Q: What is meant by “Engagement” in the blog?
  3. Q: How much Support Points is each Item worth?
  4. Q: How much does each Item move the meter?
  5. Q: Can the history of the meter be made available to users?
  6. Q: I am a viewer, and moving Rank borders can make it feel like my Items are worthless if the broadcaster does not achieve their goal. What should I do?
  7. Q: I understand the Rank System better now, thank you. But it is still hard to be competitive sometimes, and sometimes I don’t want to be.

Q: Is there only a percentage of users who can achieve +0, +1, or +2 on a given day?

On the Rank meter, broadcasters will compete with other broadcasters who are in the same Rank, or a similar Rank (like C1 & C2). It is true that not all broadcasters can achieve say, a +2 score, and that users must be represented in all sections of the meter.

However, the exact percentages of how many users can achieve which position is rather complicated and often changes depending on Rank and other factors. For this reason, we cannot disclosure exact percentage amounts.

But, it is still correct that the broadcasters who achieved the highest amount of Support Points will be the ones who receive +1 and +2. The Rank Meter provides rank borders to show what amount of Support Points is needed to compete with other users and achieve the goal.

Q: What is meant by “Engagement” in the blog?

On Pococha, Support Points are generated directly from the Items that viewers send as support.

When we describe broadcasters with high amounts of engagement and support, we are referring to this metric! You can learn more about how Support Points turn into Engagement Diamonds by reading our FAQ here!

Q: How much Support Points is each Item worth?

The amount of Support Points from each Item is determined by multiple environmental factors during a broadcast.

For example, not only does the number of Items being sent matter, but also the total number of viewers who have sent Items.

Consider the following 2 scenarios.

Scenario 1: 1 viewer sends 1 Item that cost 1000 Coins.

Scenario 2: 10 viewers each send 1 Item that cost 100 Coins, totaling 1000 Coins.

In the above example, Scenario 2 would create more Support Points for the broadcasters even though the same amount of Coins was sent by viewers. This is because there were 10 viewers sending Items, instead of just 1. So, you can see how there is no normal value for each Item.

Q: How much does each Item move the meter?

Each Item moves the meter by the amount of Support Points it generates!

If an Item generates 1,000 Support Points, the broadcaster’s position on the meter will increase by 1,000 points.

Q: Can the history of the meter be made available to users?

We’re exited to hear that users are passionate about tracking the history of the meter to help them succeed!

We display only the current daily meter because we want users to focus on today’s meter! Each day is different, and should be tackled differently by broadcasters and their Families.

However, many broadcasters take it on themselves to manually track the meter history. For example, some top broadcasters will record the daily meter numbers onto a sheet of paper. Then, they can use this information to work together with their Family to create some new strategies!

We appreciate your feedback, and will take it into consideration for future features and updates.

Q: I am a viewer, and moving Rank borders can make it feel like my Items are worthless if the broadcaster does not achieve their goal. What should I do?

Remember, the broadcaster still earns ALL Engagement Diamonds from viewers’ Items, regardless of their performance on the meter.

Even if they do not achieve a goal on the meter, the broadcaster is still earning all the normal support and Diamond rewards. So viewers’ support is not worthless!

It’s important to remember that Pococha is a game where viewers and broadcasters work together to achieve goals through competition. Sometimes there are victories and sometimes there are loses, but through both of them the Family can bond and become stronger.

Q: I understand the Rank System better now, thank you. But it is still hard to be competitive sometimes, and sometimes I don’t want to be.

Pococha is a platform for creators who want to increase their support by being directly competitive. There are many other platforms where the competition is in the background, but here on Pococha we have decided to bring it out in the open.

On Pococha, creators and their supporters can bond & grow together through the ups and downs of competition.

Pococha broadcasters know they can use the Rank system to help rally their supporters around a main goal, and work together to achieve that goal. So, a Pococha broadcaster should be ready to be competitive at all times.

A broadcaster and their supporters is like a sports team. Each day, they go into the game with the mindset and determination to win. Even when there is a loss, they work harder and win the next game.

A broadcaster is a type of influencer that requires lots of constant and continuous interaction with viewers. So, it is very important for broadcasters and their viewers to take mental health serious! Try taking some days off so you can work harder on the days that matter!

We encourage broadcasters to utilize Freeze Passes in a strategic way to best benefit the Family. If there are days where the broadcaster does not want to be competitive or does not want to broadcast, a Freeze Pass can be used!

Broadcasters can create strategy with their viewers. For Example, a broadcaster may use a Freeze Pass the day before an Event, so their supporters will be able to save their Items and use more of them during the Event!

Thank you for all your questions!

Event Tab

Many users have been having questions about which Events they can and cannot enter. We’d like to address this!

Any Events on the Event Tab page that have a unique thumbnail image are available to register for! If the Event is listed but does not have a thumbnail image yet, then the registration period is not open yet.

✅ Thumbnail Image = Event registration period is open

❌ No Thumbnail Image = Event registration period has not opened yet

New Events

We’re always trying to bring new types of Events to Pococha for our users. Here’s a look at some exciting new Events arriving soon.

1. Battle Bingo

Introducing a new type of Event – Battle Bingo!

In this new Event, broadcasters and their Families will compete to win squares on a bingo board. Teams will win squares by deciding a strategy and then sending enough Items to beat the other team.

Winners will receive an exclusive Family bonding card as well as a banner on the home page!

While the registration period for this Event has passed, the Event will occur soon – be sure to watch and support your broadcaster’s team!

2. Hall of Fame: Grand Championship

We’ve heard from many users who want to see an even bigger Event than the Hall of Fame. So, we’re introducing the Hall of Fame: Grand Championship!

While details are still being finalized, we can share some things about it.

Only winners of previous Hall of Fame Events will be able to enter and compete against each other this time. Since this will be our biggest Event yet, you can expect the prizes to match.

This Event is expected to begin in January. Dates & details are subject to change.

Event Etiquette

We’ve noticed some broadcasters swiftly blocking new viewers as soon as they arrive!

From normal broadcasts to event broadcasts, new viewers are always important to expanding your community and gaining more support!

Please be mindful of using the block feature, and utilize it when it’s necessary to maintain the safety and joy of your community.

Family Feature Update

We apologize for the delay in the much anticipated new Family Feature. We need a little bit more time to make sure it’s perfect!

We hope to release it in mid October to early November.

Remember to save any Family chats, since they will not be transferred. There may also be some data lost between the date of data acquisition and date of feature release. We will announce these dates ahead of time!

Addressing Toxic Behavior

Recently, we’ve heard from some Pococha users who are experiencing toxic behavior in the community.

This could include:

  • Un-sportsman-like Competition
  • Bullying/Harassment
  • Slander
  • Sexual Comments

We’d like to address this!

Please review the our Pococha Rulebook, where we address which behaviors are considered a violation on Pococha.

If you believe another user has committed a violation of the Rulebook, please report their broadcast or their account. Pococha reviews and determines an outcome for all reports, however, the user who reported will not always receive an update about their report.

Report Vs. Block

  • Reporting alerts the Pococha team that a user should be investigated for potential violations. This does not prevent the user from broadcasting or interacting with your broadcast.
  • Blocking does not alert the Pococha team. Instead, it removes a user from the broadcaster’s stream, and prevents them from interacting any further.

Remember that after you block a user, you cannot report them. So always report before blocking if they have broken a community guideline!

About Rank System

We recently released a blog titled “Why Do Rank Borders Move?” and we discussed the contents of this blog during the Round Table. We encourage our users to read the full blog for all the details, but we’ll provide a summary here!

https://pocochablog.wordpress.com/2022/10/04/why-do-rank-borders-move/

We frequently hear from users things like:

  • “I don’t understand the Rank Meter.”
  • “Why do I have to be competitive on Pococha?”
  • “I think it is unfair that the meter moves.”

A. What Is Rank?

Pococha is like a game in which creators can win by working together with their supporters to achieve goals.

Rank is a signifier of a broadcaster’s level of support from viewers, compared to other broadcasters on the app. As broadcasters increase their Rank, they’ll gain access to larger rewards and entry into bigger Events!

On Pococha, broadcasters earn Diamond rewards based on the amount of support they are receiving from their viewers. More support means more rewards! In this way, the Rank system signifies how much support a broadcaster is receiving, and how big of rewards they should be earning in return.

B. Why Does The Rank Meter Move?

We hear this question quite often!

Some users think that the meter’s borders should not move, or that Pococha is responsible for moving the border levels – but this is a misconception!

The Rank Meter compares one broadcaster’s level of daily support to the level of daily support of other broadcasters. Remember, in order to increase your Rank you must be earning more Support Points than your fellow broadcasters.

A border increases when 2 or more broadcasters are competing for the same spot. Not all the broadcasters can win, so the one who can earn the most Support Points will achieve their goal.

Read the full blog for a more detailed explanation!

C. Why Do I Have To Be Competitive On Pococha?

Pococha is for creators who want to grow their fan community by being competitive!

The Rank System rewards broadcasters who are best able to work with their Families to reach common goals. Remember, Ranks are relative! Broadcasters lose Rank Points and Rank down if their average level of support is lower than those in the same Rank.

If this happens, then your new Rank may actually be a better and less stressful fit.

Use the Rank System as a tool!

The Rank System is a great way to use competition to your advantage. A competitive atmosphere is a useful way to increase support from your viewers.

Broadcasters still receive the normal amount of their Engagement Diamonds from Items, even if they do not achieve their goal on the meter. So viewers’ Items are not worthless.

About Rewards System

Recently, we released another blog titled – Explaining Pococha Rewards.

We covered this article during the Round Table, and will summarize a bit! We encourage users to read the full article in their own time.

https://pocochablog.wordpress.com/2022/09/14/learn-about-the-pococha-rewards-system/

Often we hear users asking:

  • How does Pococha reward broadcasters?
  • What kind of monetary rewards can I earn?
  • How can I increase the size of my rewards?
  • Are my rewards a result of my viewers’ support?

A. Broadcasters Are Creators, Not Employees

Unlike a salaried employee at a company, a creator knows that their rewards like Diamonds are provided to them not by the platform (Pococha) but instead by their viewers. Being a broadcaster on Pococha is not like earning a salary for working. The broadcaster’s rewards are instead a direct result of how much revenue is being generated by their fans. If they wish to increase the size of their rewards, they must increase the size of support from their fans.

Just like Youtube, Pococha is the platform where creators and fans can connect, and provides a place for viewer’s support to be translated into monetary rewards. The creators do not work for the platform – they work for themselves and use the platform as a tool to grow their influence and earn higher rewards!

B. How Do Viewer’s Items Turn Into Diamond Rewards?

Items will earn Support Points for the broadcaster, which will then translate into Engagement Diamonds!

To help broadcasters who are choosing to believe in Pococha in the long run, Pococha is currently providing a subsidy in the form of a Performance Bonus

In fact, currently all revenue generated from viewer’s using Coins is being used towards broadcasters’ rewards. We are doing this even though we must also spend money on fees paid to Apple & Google, and the cost of keeping the app running!

Together, Pococha will grow alongside our creators as their communities flourish and grow. As the app becomes larger, the rewards provided to broadcasters will also grow.

C. Signed vs Independent Rewards

Signed and independent broadcasters earn Diamond rewards in the exact same way!

There is no difference.

Signed broadcasters have their Diamond rewards sent to the agency where they are distributed to the broadcaster at the agency’s discretion. Both signed & independent can track their Diamond reward earnings with Pococha’s daily & monthly reports inside the app.

Q&A From Users

We received questions during the Round Table, and will address them here!

Q: Why do I have to be competitive on Pococha?

We addressed this during the Round Table and in our recent blog, but we’re happy to reiterate!

Pococha is a platform designed for creators who want to be competitive by using their fanbase and community to achieve common goals with supporters!

So, on Pococha, competition is the name of the game. We believe that competition improves the quality of everyone’s broadcasts and makes communities stronger, which can create new influencers

In order to increase the size of their community, a creator must be competitive on any platform. Consider Tik Tok, where creators must compete on the apps ranking algorithm to try and get more views.

Instead of having the competition hidden, Pococha brings this ranking competition to the forefront of the app and allows its users to use it as a tool to succeed. We truly believe the Rank System and competition are the best ways for creators to strengthen relationships and grow with their Families.

Q: If all rewards are based on viewers’ support, why are there Time Diamonds?

This is a good question!

Yes, all rewards are a result of viewer support – even Time Diamonds. But, we’d like to explain the reason for Time Diamonds to help users understand how.

First, it’s important to understand that Time Diamonds should not be considered as an “hourly pay” and are not provided to users as guaranteed compensation.

Instead, Time Diamonds are provided more as an “averaged reward” to help users earn a steady amount of Diamonds.

When Pococha first launched, all users only earned Engagement Diamonds. However, we found that users would have some good days and some bad days which created an undesirable experience. So, we decided to instead take some of the Engagement Diamonds users were earning, and redistribute them as Time Diamonds.

In this way, users can earn an average amount of Diamonds despite good and bad days.
Also because the amount of Time Diamonds a user earns is dependent on their Rank, Time Diamonds are also a result of the amount of viewer support! A user with higher support will increase their Rank, resulting in higher Time Diamonds.

Currently, Pococha is not taking any commission fee from broadcaster’s rewards. All revenue being earned by Pococha is being invested into broadcaster rewards. As Pococha grows and the amount of support also increases, the amount of Time Diamonds will also increase.

Q: Why haven’t our reward increased? Will they increase in the future?

Remember, the size of rewards is a direct result of a broadcaster’s amount of support from viewers. A broadcaster’s rewards increase when their viewer support increases.

Pococha is currently not taking any commission fees from users’ rewards.

In order for Pococha to increase the size of rewards, the amount of support from viewers must first increase! Currently, Pococha is not taking any commission fee from broadcaster’s rewards. All revenue being earned by Pococha is being invested into broadcaster rewards.

Currently the highest Rank is A Rank. However as Pococha continues to grow, we expect competition to get bigger and the amount of viewer support to increase more than current levels. As support grows, Pococha can begin creating new & bigger ways to provide rewards to broadcasters – such as creating a new higher Rank above A Rank.

Q: Is there a lag in the calculation of the meter and Event Points?

During End Time and the end of an Event, all Items and points are counted until the very last moment.

After the finish time has ended, there will be a brief moment of calculation. During this calculation period, new Items and points will not be counted.

However, it will continue to calculate any Items and points that were added before the calculation started. So, you can be assured that all points will be calculated and represented correctly!

Q: I thought that Pococha’s focus was to be a positive & supportive community. Isn’t competition at odds with this kind of mission statement?

We believe that competition and positive community can coexist! They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Consider your favorite sports team. Fans on rival teams can be competitive but with a spiriting of respect for the other team.

The same is true for Pococha. Pococha is a place where broadcasters can bond with their supporters through the ups and downs of competition. They can celebrate a winning moment together, like achieving a +2 at End Time or winning and Event! Even in moments of losing, the Family can deepen their relationship and grow stronger.

So, Pococha’s goal is to create this environment that is competitive but also supportive and positive!

Q: How much Support Points is each Item actually worth?

The amount of Support Points from each Item is determined by multiple environmental factors during a broadcast.

For example, not only does the value of Coins being sent matter, but also the total number of viewers who have sent Coins.

Consider the following 2 scenarios.

Scenario 1: 1 viewer sends 1 Item that cost 1000 Coins.

Scenario 2: 10 viewers each send 1 Item that cost 100 Coins, totaling 1000 Coins.

In the above example, Scenario B would create more Support Points for the broadcasters even though the same amount of Coins was sent by viewers. This is because there were 10 viewers sending Items, instead of just 1.

So, you can see how there is no normal value for each Item. However, many users can begin to predict and estimate how many Support Points each item will create, when conditions are similar.

Q: What is being done about bot or spam accounts on Pococha?

Pococha is committed to ensuring that communication on the app is authentic. We take many measures to investigate accounts that are behaving in a spam or bot-like way.

We are away of the frustration some users feel when they encounter an account that appears to be a bot. We are continuously working to improve our detection system and help prevent this type of behavior.

We encourage all our users to report & block any accounts that exhibit bot behavior> Pococha will investigate all reports.

Thank you for taking time to read this article! We hope you will enjoy the new Events, Items, and updates. Please attend the next Round Table event for even more exciting news.

What’s the POCOLAB?

The POCOLAB is a co-creation event that allows users to help us create future app content! Our first POCOLAB was a Fourth of July Item Co-Creation Event, which users attended via Zoom. During the event, attendees were broken out into groups to:

  • Discuss their thoughts & feelings about the Fourth of July
  • Discuss what Items they’d like to see most for the holiday
  • Vote on which Item styles, text, colors, and designs they want created
  • Discuss how broadcasters and viewers can use these Items to the fullest

Here’s a screenshot selfie from the Halloween event! During this event, we spent 2 hours discussing, voting, & developing the new Items you see! We hope you will join the next POCOLAB event.

Round of applause for our attendees who helped us create these Items! 👏👏👏

How Can I Attend the Next POCOLAB?

Currently we do not have a POCOLAB on the calendar, but we intend to bring it back. Keep your eyes peeled for Item preference surveys and event sign-ups to be sure you don’t miss out!

Battle Bingo: Play Guide

Hi everyone! Here is the official play guide for our new game: Battle Bingo ~Beat the Rival Family~

Game Materials

Download the bingo card image below.

Discussion (10 minutes)

  • Before each round, Broadcasters and their Family must discuss and decide on 2 squares to attack and 1 square to defend.

Declaring Attack/Defense (5 minutes)

  • After deciding on squares, the Broadcaster declares their attack/defense to the Pococha management team via Instagram DM.
  • In your DM, please write the letter shown on the top left of each square on the bingo card.
    • I.e.) I will attack B and C, and defend E.
    • If you do not write the letters, your declaration will not be considered.
  • If the attack is successful, the declared square will be acquired.
  • If the defense is successful, you can prevent the opponent from acquiring the declared square.
  • If both Families declare the same square at any time during the game, the Family that sent more of the declared square’s Item will gain the square.

Battle Time (5 minutes)

  • During the battle, keep track number of items used by your Family members so that you can prioritize which square to attack/defend.

Note: Only squares declared for attack/defense are counted.

On the day of the event, a battle result web page will be prepared for each broadcaster. This page will be automatically updated after each battle. Be sure to share the URL with your viewers!

Tips to Win

Create a strategy.

Broadcasters and their Family need to work together and create strategies to win!

While the idea of the game is simple, a little strategy can go a long way. Secure your squares by predicting the opponent’s actions, or seize chances to turn the tables!

Even if you only have one square at the start of a game, boost your chances for a bingo with strategies.

Communication is key.

Battle Bingo is a game meant to increase communication between Broadcasters, their Family and to provide healthy competition between Families. So, strive for an environment where everyone can communicate openly and easily.

Broadcasters, remember to thank viewers who sent items, appreciate their strategy suggestions, celebrate wins and respect losses.

Viewers, encourage other viewers to connect with the broadcaster or reassure the broadcaster that your strategy will work.

But most of all, have fun!

Technical Tips

Use two devices during the event

It’s recommended to use two devices for this event: one for broadcasting, and the other for communication with the Pococha management team on Instagram.

In the case of using only one device, we recommend notifying your viewers before switching apps for a smooth viewing experience.

This will prevent any sudden confusion caused by a black screen appearing in your broadcast when switching apps.

Share battle result web page

Share the battle results web page after each round so Family members can actively participate in the game.

Post the page link on your profile or send it directly on the Family chat. Encourage viewers to keep track of the results and plan the next strategy together!
